Go Phillies!!!

The Phillies are the 2008 World Champions!

We won!!! We are still in shock. The Phillies won the World Series!!! We watched the game with some friends last night and it was so exciting...we'll never forget the last pitch by Lidge! We woke up David and brought him down for the last three outs so we could celebrate with him. We all went up to Modell's after the game to get some gear, but the line was hundreds and hundreds of people! All the cars were doing drive bys and the crowd was cheering!!! Our city and area is on top of the world! We headed over to Dick's Sporting Goods and we were able to get all of our World Series gear! We are all so excited for the parade!!!! Go Phils!

So many memorable moments this series...Moyer pitching a great game, Ruiz (the catcher!)being the hero in game three, Hamels pitching perfectly, Blanton's home run (what!?!), Howard getting his swing back...big time!, Lidge having a perfect season and postseason...never missing a save, ALL of the Phillies playing together as a team to win the championship!!!

Fun Day!

Well, this week has been busy and fun. On Monday night, we celebrated William's 5th birthday and the boys had a blast. William was so excited for his birthday! I am so disappointed that I forgot to bring my camera...I didn't get any pictures! David really enjoys playing with William and they share a love for trains!! After the party, we headed home for a Phillies party!!! We were all decked out in our Phillies gear and we could almost taste the win...and then the rain came. Noo!!! We were all really sad about the rain, but we still believe!!! Go Phillies!!!

Last night, Dave and David had a special time together doing a craft. In the spirit of the season, they made a friendly spider! David has so much fun making it with Daddy.

Today, we went to play group and David had fun playing with all his friends. After play group Beth Anne, the Van Berkom's and us went to the grand opening of our new Walmart!!! Finally, our Walmart is here!!! We had McDonald's for lunch and walked around the store. It is huge! It's tied for the largest Walmart on the East coast. It's going to make my life a lot easier...no more trips up to Elkton!!!

Visit from the Jackson's

This evening, the Jackson family came over to hang out and watch the Phillies game. GO PHILS! Since the game was delayed by 1 1/2 hours, we only ended up watching a couple of innings, but we really enjoyed being with them and enjoyed some good food too! David was so excited that Isaac was coming over, he barely slept during his nap and asked every half hour, "Is Isaac here yet?". He was so happy to see Isaac and they played so well together. They played with trains, had some dance time and made some "food" with play dough...all this in between taking breaks for chocolate chip cookies...a LOT of chocolate chip cookies. :) Owen and Abby seem to really like each other too as they were staring at each other and smiling at each other...it was really cute.

What a week...

First, GO PHILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had to get that out of the way first! :) We are recovering from a week of sickness. We ended up having to take David to the ER at Dupont and he was mildly dehydrated. He was the sickest he's ever been. He finally was able to start keeping something down yesterday evening. Until then, he was still throwing up everything. Today he seemed much better and even had some energy back. Today he was able to resume a normal diet, although his appetite wasn't back to normal yet. Unfortunately, the poor little guy woke up with a cold today (got it from me!). I've also been sick these past three days and feel a little better tonight. I was feeling terrible yesterday. So far, Owen is not showing any symptoms of sickness, thank goodness!!! Dave is also fine which is good because he has a big meeting for work tomorrow. I've washed and disinfected our entire house I think :) so hopefully the sickness is on the way out!!! We were so blessed that our good friends (and now neighbors) Adrian and Meredith brought us over some homemade chicken noodle soup yesterday. David and I both enjoyed it and it was just what we needed. Thank you!!!

Great Pop-Pop's Birthday

Today we had a lovely meal at the Town House in Media for "Daddy's Pop-Pop's" birthday. It was really nice to see all of our family and David enjoyed sitting next to Kaylynn. It was all going so wonderfully...that is until David came down with a stomach bug!!! He started asking to go potty every 5 minutes and saying his "belly hurt" shortly after he finished eating his ravioli and meatball. Then as I (Sarah) was holding him and trying to comfort him he threw up all over himself, me and the floor!!! It was the worst he'd ever been sick. We did our best to clean him and the floor up and had to leave suddenly. When we got to the car, we stripped him down to his undies. He continued to throw up all the way home. Right now he's sitting next to me watching a movie with a bucket. Every now and then he has to throw up again and we try to help him. Poor little guy!!! He'll sleep in our room tonight so we can help him throw up if he needs too. I am praying that this is a quick virus as it's so hard to see our little guy so sick. I am also praying that Owen doesn't get this! Anyway, I wasn't able to get ANY pictures today because of all the craziness. Hopefully, I can borrow some from Mommom. Happy Birthday Pop-Pop! We love you!

Milburn Orchards

On Saturday we took a trip with Mimi to Milburn Orchards. It was a beautiful crisp Autumn day (a little on the chilly side, but beautiful!). We took David on a hayride and (we didn't know this until it happened!) all the wagons had hay fights as they passed each other. Needless to say, David, Mimi and I were all completely covered in hay by the end of the ride. Thank goodness we didn't bring Owen! :) David also rode on a "real horsie"! He also enjoyed petting the goats, although he was little nervous about feeding them. David found a big hill and enjoyed running up and down it with Daddy! There was so much to do...we could've stayed there all day! We had a wonderful time and David had fun running from activity to activity. And, the apple cider donuts are to die for!!!!! Mmmm...

Linvilla Orchards

Today, we made the trip up to PA to go to Linvilla Orchards with Mommom and Poppop. Dave, David and I went on a hayride while Mommom and Poppop played with Owen. Dave then took David on a train ride!!! Of course, David was thrilled. David then had such a fun time playing in the playland which is a park with all of these wooden trucks, airplanes, boats, castles, etc. to climb in and slide down. He had the time of his life. Owen was smiling and laughing and talking to Mommom and Poppop too while David was playing. We all had a great time and we loved seeing Mommom and Poppop too!

Game Night!

Our friends came over last night for some fun and games. We hung out, had some fellowship and played some games. Of course, we played a big Settlers game and then we played Trivial Pursuit, girl against guys. It was an exciting game that came down to sudden death and the guys won. Good game! We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. It was really nice to see everyone, especially Martin and Beth Anne who we hadn't seen in so long!

"School" Time

Well, this week we started school time a couple of days a week with David. I am really excited about teaching David and trying to make learning fun. We start out with arts and crafts time (that is his favorite part!) and then move onto learning time. So far it's gone pretty well. I'm going to try to do it on Monday and Wednesday each week and some Fridays (although not on care group nights). David was really excited about a new "Hooked on Phonics Pre-K" program we did. It was a lot of fun. David is growing up so quickly...I can't believe it. The picture below is David putting apples on his apple tree. :)

Day 7...Coming Back Home

What a great trip! We had such a wonderful time and we're sad to come home. Dave and I had some special times just the two of us and it was so nice to be with my love. We love our sweet boys, David and Owen, and the special and fun times we had with each one of them are precious to us. David was so sad to leave his friends today that he kept saying that he wanted them to come to his house. He didn't want to leave! :) We were thinking of the highlights of our trip and it was hard to come up with one because the entire week was a highlight! Long talks with Dave, playing in the sand with Davey, going for swims and in the hot tub with Dave, our family bike ride, going out to breakfast, watching Davey run down the dunes, late night hot tub dips with our friends, watching the boys play together and run around, watching Owen experience so many new things and enjoying his many smiles, walks to town, key lime pie and Settlers, watching the VP debate with everyone, swimming with the boys, building lakes with David, getting ice cream, Duck donuts and coffee!, the beach....and I could go on and on. Thanks, friends for a fabulous week!!!
