Finally home!

We are finally home after quite an adventure in Disney! We stayed two extra days due to our flights being cancelled over and over and finally gave up trying to get a flight and drove 17 hours straight through the night! We are glad to be home and are going to be recovering over the next few days.

We had a wonderful trip and I can't wait to go through all the pictures and try to blog about it all. We were able to make some wonderful family memories together and just had a ball being together for eight days!

Welcome Kellen Christopher!

Our friends, Billy and Lindsay, had their first baby tonight. Kellen Christopher was born this evening at 7:39 PM, weighing 8 pounds, 3 ounces and 20.5 inches long. We are rejoicing with them at the birth of their precious baby son and can't wait to meet him!

My birthday!

Today is my 32nd birthday. Duh, duh, duh. :)

Highlights from today for me are:

David and Owen running into my room at 6:30 this morning singing, "Happy Birthday" to me with their little gift and cards. They were so excited to do it. So cute!

David asking me throughout the day (more than a dozen times), "How old are you, Mom?" Yes, he won't let me forget that I am now 32!

Dave joining us for a brief birthday celebration with ice cream cake that was a complete surprise because I thought he was going to have to work all night! Back to work, but it was so nice to see him even if only for a little while.

Getting to watch the Olympics and pairs skating (my favorite event!) on my birthday.

And in three days, we will be celebrating my birthday in sunny Florida at Disney World! CAN'T WAIT!!!

Thinking back over 32 years of the grace and mercy of God towards me and all the many, many blessings I have been given. I am truly blessed and grateful.

Frosty

Since we are in the midst of yet another blizzard (!), we had to take our Frosty down. But, on Monday, David and Owen and I made our Frosty the Snowman (so named by David). I did most of the work, but it was fun to do together. Thanks to Uncle Dan and Amy, we have a snowman kit and were able to use it and make a real Frosty! As soon as we were finished, David began dancing around him singing the Frosty song. :)

Snow Tubing!

We had some serious fun snow tubing (well, not me because of baby :-)) today, thanks to the Dunphy's neighbors and the Dunphy's great hill. The boys loved it and I think the adults did too. :) I have some pictures coming from Beth Anne's phone that I'll have to post of the boys' first time sledding. It was funny, because at the end of their hill the boys would literally fly off the tube and into the arms of Martin or Dave...loving it the entire time!

Hoping to go to the VB's Super Bowl party tonight...we'll see how the roads are!! :)

And, there's supposed to be more snow coming on Wednesday!

The Blizzard, Part 2 :-)

We went outside again this afternoon with Owen once the snow stopped coming. :) Owen really enjoyed himself and it was quite comical watching both boys try to walk through the snow. It was impossible for Owen and David lost his boots a couple of times too! It was a really fun day and tomorrow we look forward to walking down to the end of our street to go sledding!!! Yay!

Not sure what to think...

Making snow angels!

Football in the snow!

I love my guys.

Homemade Pizza Night!

Homemade pizza fun! Tonight we made pizza for dinner and the boys loved it! The pizza turned out very yummy and it was such fun to make it together.

Very excited with the finished product!

Mmm...enjoying the pizza

The Blizzard of 2010!

What a snowstorm! We are literally buried in snow! We had a really fun morning with a big breakfast, making blanket forts, and have treasure hunts around the house. It's so nice to be warm and cozy in our house surrounded by snow.

We finally ventured outside this afternoon (without Owen, though. The snow is still coming down so hard and the snow would be up to his head!). David enjoyed playing with our neighbor friend, Payton, while Dave worked hard to at least start clearing out the snow. When we got outside there was even more snow than we thought! It's over two feet and still coming down! I think it's the most snow I've ever seen. We look forward to taking Owen out too to see what he thinks about it and making some homemade pizza together tonight!

We love being snowed in together! What fun!

Fun in the blanket fort!

Snowed in!

Dave working hard trying to clear out some of the snow!

Playing with David's friend and neighbor. They made a path through the middle of the yard. David fell and got stuck a couple of times since the snow came up past his stomach!

Mmm...hot cocoa!

One happy boy.

Great quote

I was so encouraged by this quote, I wanted to share it with all of you. I've been following the girl talk blog and although last year I was a member of the 5 AM club, I haven't been able to get up that early since becoming pregnant. I am looking forward to getting up earlier and starting the club back up again, because it was extremely beneficial to me. This quote was from the blog today:

"Our obedience, discipline and hard graft are not insignificant or optional. On the contrary, they are the God-intended context for growth. But something else energizes the growth till the fruit is ready for harvest: all is done through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God (verse 11)….In this setting the daily task of obedience remains hard, but not fruitless. We are often neglectful, frequently failing, ever inadequate; yet the end is secure, for God is at work.”

"Getting up early to sit at Jesus’ feet is hard, but not fruitless. We may fail, but the end is secure: God is at work."

This was so encouraging to me that my hard work and obedience each day isn't for nothing and that God is working through it. Most of all, even when I fail, God is at work and he is faithful!!!

Is it too much to hope for...

...that we would get ANOTHER blizzard this winter?!? That is exactly what the weather forecasters are calling for... at least 12-18"!!! Possibly more. I cannot wait!

And...just two more weeks until...DISNEY WORLD!!! We are soooo looking forward to it!

Woo hoo!
