Happy Birthday, Love!

Happy Birthday to my dear husband! I am so grateful for you and I love you so much! I pray that the Lord draws you even closer to Himself and that you experience the grace, joy and love of Christ in an even deeper way this year. Thank you for all that you do for me and David! I love how you are always putting everyone else's needs above your own...you are a true servant! You lay down your life for others and never seek to draw attention to yourself. Thank you for being an example to David and soon, baby Owen, of humility, servanthood, hard work, love for others, and love for God and His Word. By God's grace, I pray that our sons will be just like their Daddy.

Happy Birthday! We love you!

Painting Day!

Yesterday we were able to paint Owen's room and our master bathroom with the unbelievably kind help from our friends, Adrian and Meredith. We are so excited to have it done and we can't wait to finish up the baby's room. THANK YOU Peterson's...we could not have finished it all without you. We showed David his baby brother's room and I think he is finally starting to grasp it a little.

Chris preached a wonderful message today and both Dave and I were both very encouraged. He ended it with a verse that my mom used to sing to my siblings and me when we were little and now I sing to David and his little brother:

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace."

Beach Day Pictures

Pictures from yesterday...Daddy and David playing football

Beach Day!!!

David and I had a busy and fun week enjoying the beautiful weather, visiting friends, and going to the park every day! We missed Dave soooo much, though, and were overjoyed to welcome him back home! Today, we celebrated by going to the beach. We went to Lewis and had the most wonderful time digging in the sand and relaxing by the ocean. We ran into Adrian and Meredith and had a fun time with them too (David was especially excited to see them!). We then went to Mike & Terri's beach house and drove around on their golf cart (which Aunt Terri and Uncle Mike let David drive!). It was so great to see them and David was very happy to get to play with Kaylynn. He literally was having the time of his life playing with their golf cart!!! :) We got dinner and came home after having a wonderful family day together. I am so grateful for precious memories like this. I treasure them in my heart and I really want to thank the Lord for His many, many good gifts. Pictures to follow...

Brandywine Zoo

Well, I'm really behind in updating my blog so here I am playing catch-up! :)

Last weekend, we all went to the Brandywine Zoo and park and had a picnic lunch by the river. It was really beautiful as there were all these cherry trees that were blossoming. David liked seeing all the animals...especially the tiger. The tiger was sleeping, so David kept calling out, "Wake up, Tiger! Wake up, Tiger!". It was a fun family day before Dave had to go away again.

Baby Boy Number 2 (yes, we STILL don't have a name!)

As the weeks are going by more and more quickly and my schedule is filling up with doctor's appointments, biophysical profiles, ultrasounds and preparing all the little details for our little boy's arrival, I can sometimes be tempted to be overwhelmed or anxious. Lately, the Lord has been, by His grace, directing my eyes to Him. If I look to my own strength and weakness, I will surely fail, but I have a source of never-ending grace who will surely give me new mercies every day to fulfill the role that He has given me. Thank you Lord that I need not rely on my own strength, but instead I have a Rock to lean on who will give me the grace I need to love my husband and to mother my two boys and to serve others. Thank you that I know your promises are true and steadfast and just as you have shown yourself faithful to me all of my life, you will continue to be faithful to me in the future. Thank you that in spite of my great sin and weakness, you have given me all good things because of the cross!

“Because He has already been our help,
we feel confidence in Him for the present and the future.
Our prayer is ‘Lord, be Thou my helper’;
our experience is, ‘The Spirit also helps us in our weakness’;
our expectation is, ‘I will lift up mine eyes to the hills from whence cometh my help’;
and our song soon will be ‘Thou, Lord hast helped me.’”

Trip to the Museum!

My mom and I took David to the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia yesterday. Although it was pricey, David had an absolute blast! It was really nice that he could just run around freely from one thing to the next. He was so cute in the pretend grocery store...he pushed the cart and picked out all of his items just like Mommy does. He then put them through the check-out counter and he knew exactly what to do! It was funny watching him. I think his favorite was the bus that he could pretend to drive. We had such a fun day with Mimi and we can't wait until the next fun memory we make together.
