Owen - 8 Months Old

The past couple of weeks have been big ones for Owen. Not only has he had his first trip to the ER and his first virus, but he also has learned some new things too! He (finally) got his first tooth last week. Yep, just the one so far. :) He learned how to clap his hands and he looooves it. Every time we clap, he starts smiling and clapping. It's so cute. He also is sitting up very well on his own and I think he enjoys his newfound freedom. I can't believe how fast he is growing up...sometimes I wish I could just freeze time with both David and Owen. But then I remember how much fun each stage/age is!!!

And down go the Johnstons...

Well, on Sunday the stomach virus struck our household and first I came down with it and then poor little Owen. Many sleepless nights, lots of pedialyte, and one trip to the ER later, Owen is finally improving. It's been a wild week and I am looking forward to putting it behind us! Owen has a follow-up appointment tomorrow to get his weight checked and to see how he's doing, but today his fever left and his appetite/energy has improved and he seems to be finally getting better. Poor little guy, he's such a trooper!

Spring could not come fast enough!!! :)

Not much happening here...

Well, not much happening around here, hence no posts! It's been a couple of weeks of nasty viruses for several of David's friends and my friend, Lindy, is in the hospital now after a stomach virus worked its way through her family. Please pray for them! It's so hard to see those you care about suffer. I am praying that she recovers quickly and gets her strength back quickly too.

We are hoping and praying that everyone gets well soon and that NO ONE ELSE gets this virus!

On a much happier note, Happy 2nd Birthday to two of the cutest twins around, Andrew and Jonathan!

Our Valentine's Day

We began the day with a special breakfast of pancake hearts
Then, David helped me make our Valentine's Day cupcakes. He did a wonderful job!

Mmm...
The cutest little baby Valentine!
Enjoying our cupcakes!
My littlest Valentines

My Valentines
We ended the day by stopping by the grandparent's houses to drop off their cards and Dave and I went on a special date. Unfortunately, my camera ran out of batteries. Hmm...I wonder why! :)

Valentine's Day Party

David and (almost) all of his little friends had a little Valentine's day party today. They made little bags to collect and exchange their cards, heart cookies, and Valentine's jello jigglers! Fibia was kind enough to remember my birthday and she surprised me with a cake! David enjoyed "helping" me blow out my candles. Baby Emma made her first appearance at playgroup...we are so glad to have another girl! She was so sweet and slept through most of the chaos!

Much fun was had by all.

Warm Weather!

I cannot believe how warm it is today! To enjoy the warm weather (almost 70!), we took a walk and went to the park with Beth Anne and little Emma! It was wonderful to be outside and to feel the warm sunshine. It felt like we went somewhere warm for a day! Owen and Emma enjoyed just chilling out in their strollers (I don't think they knew what to think of the breeze) and David enjoyed the fresh air. What a sweet little baby girl!
New friends
Spring must be just around the corner!

Valentine's Day Cards

IF YOU ARE A GRANDPARENT, DON'T LOOK OR READ ANY FURTHER...! :-)
Today David, Owen and I made our Valentine's Day cards for Grandpop and Mimi and Poppop and Mommom and one of Daddy's. We had a lot of fun and David especially enjoyed getting paint all over his hands! It was a little tricky with Owen, though...he kept turning his hands over and looking at them like he didn't know what to think!

It's Official: Owen is on the move!

Today, Owen has officially started crawling! He is moving across the room pretty quickly now. He is sooo happy to be able to move and get to whatever he wants. I call his version of crawling the "inch worm crawl". :-) You have got to see it. It's really cute!

Being Silly...

David and I spent some time playing outside and just being silly. I love being silly with my boys! It's too much fun taking pictures of David...he is sooo expressive! :-) I asked David what his favorite silly game to play with Mommy was and he said, "Tickle game. And silly faces." Ha, ha, ha!
It seems like the pictures done in the manual setting capture the color and light so much better too.
