Visit to Mommom and Poppop's

We are home after spending a fun week at Mommom and Poppop's while our tile floors were done (!). We went to the Please Touch Museum, took lots and lots of walks, went to the pool, went to a movie, got to see everyone on Father's Day and had a wonderful time.

One of the highlights of the week was playing outside. Mommom and Poppop had a push car that Owen fell in love with! You should have seen his face light up! He would squeal with delight and bounce up and down when we put him in it for a walk. He loved it! David rode his bike and we went for walks. Another highlight was sitting on the porch swing in the evenings. That was so relaxing and nice.

All of us are going to miss Mommom and Poppop so much!!!

30 Reasons Why I Love My Husband

(This isn't an exhaustive list, but it's some of the reasons I most love...not in any order, either)

This is for you, Dave, in honor of Father's Day:

1. He's the hardest worker I know
2. He is hot
3. He watches all the English BBC movies with me...and likes them too!
4. He is patient
5. He loves me best
6. He is way smarter than me and knows so much interesting trivia
7. He likes to play games with me and he's competitive
8. He loves God's Word
9. He thinks I'm prettier than I really am
10. He loves our boys and no matter how tired he is, he always plays with them
11. He is wise
12. He's humble and doesn't try to put himself forward
13. He always thinks well of other people. Always.
14. He makes sure I get time off, even when he is exhausted and deserves it more than I do
15. He is athletic and loves sports
16. He loves to laugh
17. He doesn't take himself too seriously
18. He loves to read
19. He loves to travel almost as much as I do. :)
20. He loves to go out and do fun things all the time! When he could be tired and just want to take it easy, he just wants to go out and make memories together and have fun
21. He loves the beach
22. He always forgives me and points me to the gospel
23. He tells really funny bedtime stories to our boys (cracks me up)
24. I don't know anyone who serves the way Dave does...and never complains. Never.
25. His dry sense of humor
27. He doesn't care about stuff. Just people. He could care less about what we have.
28. He loves whatever I cook...even if it's not very good. :)
29. He can get along with anyone
30. You can count on Dave. Period.

A BIG Milestone for David

Our little boy is growing up! This summer David has grown up so much. He learned to ride a bike with training wheels and now his favorite activity is to go on bike rides with Dave. And just last week, he started swimming on his own with just a life jacket! He loooves it and is asking to go swimming every day. We are going to have to get his swim lessons, though, as he dove in without a jacket on Saturday...yikes! Mrs. VB was calm under pressure and rescued him though before he went under.
We've been going to the pool a lot and it's been so nice to have a more relaxed summer schedule with the boys. Most days, we pack a lunch and head to the pool all afternoon. We've also been enjoying our friends' pool. Here are some pictures of David swimming at the VB's pool this weekend. He's such a big boy! :)
There he goes...

Owen loves the water too and likes floating around in his "boat".

Ethan loves his goggles! :)

Breakfast and Hike

On Saturday, I went to breakfast with a few friends from church and then we all went on a hike at a local state park. It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed the "girls outing"! Although the trail was a little muddy from some of the crazy storms we've been having, it was a really great time and a good workout. I can't wait until next time!

Fun with friends

This past week we watched two of our little friends, Ethan and Nathan, and went in our little baby pool in our back yard. The boys had a blast!

My Dad's 60th Birthday

We celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday a week ago with all the family. It was a really special time celebrating my Dad. We love you Dad/Grandpop!

Beach Day

So, I'm really behind on my blog...have a lot of catching up to do. Mostly due to the fact that my laptop charger is on the fritz.
On Saturday we took a trip to Ocean City, NJ on a BEEAUUTIFUL day. :) Owen took one taste of the sand and decided it wasn't very tasty, and was okay the rest of the day. He crawled around in the sand and just had a ball. We all went in the water, but it was very chilly! We enjoyed the boardwalk, got some pizza, rode some rides, and had a great day. Warning: MANY pictures to follow...

Testing out the water...

Owen really loves to play ball.

David's favorite ride was...you guessed it! The bumper cars. :) He was ALLOWED to crash.
