After dinner, we headed to my family's house for dessert and David and Shai and Mikayla helped decorate Grandpop and Mimi's tree, a Thanksgiving tradition. We played games and ate way too much and had a grand time. We got back really late and went to sleep for just a couple of hours, before I got up and headed out to shop at 5 AM! I hit Toys R Us, Walmart and Kohl's and was able to get many of David's and Owen's toys for a great deal as well for some of his cousins. It was crazy and so much fun! The stores were packed!!!
Later that day, my family came over for our annual trip to the tree farm to cut down our Christmas tree! We had so much fun, even though it was freezing and got our best tree yet! David and Owen loved all the trees and the Christmas ornament shop and it was again another fun day with my family! We all had lots of snacks and egg nog and cookies when we came back to our house. David and I baked snickerdoodles and peanut butter blossoms and I made some hors d'oeuvres especially for the occasion.
We decorated the tree today, and Owen was thrilled! He LOVES lights and continued to exclaim, "Pretty tree! Pretty tree!". He was so proud to help decorate the tree and David had a ball! He could not WAIT to put the ornaments on the tree and he kept track of all the ones he put on. :) It was such a great family memory. I love traditions and it just keeps getting better and better each year. And next year, we'll have another little guy to join in the fun! Both of our boys also LOVE egg nog and if they could each be hooked up to an egg nog IV, they'd be happy. :)
Here's our tree!
Owen with Uncle Al...who he loves!
