Day 7...Coming Back Home

What a great trip! We had such a wonderful time and we're sad to come home. Dave and I had some special times just the two of us and it was so nice to be with my love. We love our sweet boys, David and Owen, and the special and fun times we had with each one of them are precious to us. David was so sad to leave his friends today that he kept saying that he wanted them to come to his house. He didn't want to leave! :) We were thinking of the highlights of our trip and it was hard to come up with one because the entire week was a highlight! Long talks with Dave, playing in the sand with Davey, going for swims and in the hot tub with Dave, our family bike ride, going out to breakfast, watching Davey run down the dunes, late night hot tub dips with our friends, watching the boys play together and run around, watching Owen experience so many new things and enjoying his many smiles, walks to town, key lime pie and Settlers, watching the VP debate with everyone, swimming with the boys, building lakes with David, getting ice cream, Duck donuts and coffee!, the beach....and I could go on and on. Thanks, friends for a fabulous week!!!

Day 6...Our last day

Our last day (Nooo!!!) was the best beach day yet. The weather was absolutely perfect and the ocean was so calm, we were able to take David in for a swim. There was a sand bar not for out that you could swim to where some small waves were crashing and we were able to ride some waves too. We stayed at the beach all day and enjoyed every minute! We even put little Owie's toes in and he was so cute! His first time in the ocean!

This week has been so wonderful and so much fun. It's been wonderful to be together as a family and make so many special memories and it's been so much fun to be with our dear friends and to see the boys have so much fun together. We are refreshed, tired and happy. Dave's theme this week that he's been teaching David and talking to us as a family about is gratefulness. Gratefulness to God for being so good to our family in countless ways and for all of his good gifts. We're so gratefull for being so kind to give us each other and two wonderful boys and friends who we love to be with! We're so gratefull for all of the memories and for this wonderful week away. We have so much to be thankful for!!!

Day 5

Today was a very full day! It started off with an early morning bike ride and it was such a beautiful, crisp, cool fall morning. David LOVED it too and it was really fun to take him for a ride. After our ride, we went out for a family breakfast at Stack Em High. It was delicious and after working up an appetite, we ate a feast! After breakfast we all headed to the indoor pool and took Owen for his first swim! He didn't seem too fazed by it (as usual) and didn't seem to mind it. After lunch, we went to the beach for a couple of hours. Then we headed out to dinner at our tradition, Sonic (cherry limeades!!!) and to the dunes to watch the sunset. We got some beautiful pictures and the boys went to bed totally exhausted. They sure do know how to play hard!

Day 4

Another great beach day!!! We braved the swirling currents and went swimming several times and Dave even rode some HUGE waves. The boys were enjoying the water and the sand and their dads built a huge whole in the sand and they jumped and slide down it for hours! We have had the best weather this week too...we can't believe how nice it's been. David and Isaac ended the night with pool and chocolate milk. Another FUN day!!! Tomorrow morning we are going to take David on a bike ride with the bike trailer we rented. There are great bike paths in Duck, so we are looking forward to a nice ride. We are also going to the dunes tomorrow evening to watch the sunset and I can't wait to see the boys there...they are going to love it.
