Baking Cookies Play Group

I'm really behind on posting on my blog...it's been a busy week!

This past week our play group got together at Beth Anne's new home and baked cookies together. The kids had fun rolling the dough in all sorts of sprinkles and sugar (and some of them even took a bite out of the dough! Uh, oh. ) It was a fun memory and we all took home some delicious cookies! It was very kind of Beth Anne's to have all of us over!

Happy 1st Birthday, Emilie!

Today we celebrated Emilie Nemec's first birthday! What a sweet, precious little girl she is! We had such a wonderful time up in Pennsylvania with our dear friends. We got to see the entire Shaw family which was such a blessing as we miss them all so much! It was so nice catching up with everyone there. Jason and Becca are our dear, dear friends and we loved being with them as they celebrated their sweet girlie. I am so sad that we don't live closer to each other...we used to dream about living in the same neighborhood! David enjoyed playing with Samantha and Zachary and Isaac too. He was so excited to give Emilie her gift...he couldn't wait for her to open it. Happy Birthday, Miss Emilie! We love you!

Filasky's Farm

On Saturday we had absolutely beautiful weather so we decided to stop by Filasky's Farm which is just 10 minutes away. Almost everything is free, so it's a great place to come for the kids to run around. David enjoyed climbing in the blow up train, running through the soybean maze and riding the little tractors. David often says that he wants to be a farmer when he grows up, so he really loved the tractors. This could very well have been the last warm day of the season, so we're glad we were able to spend it outside.

Trick or Treating!

Our little trick or treaters were adorable. We went around with David's friends Isaac and Abby. David and Isaac got the hang of it very quickly and marched from house to house getting their treats. David would say "trick or treat" over and over...he didn't understand that he just needed to say it once! :) Isaac and David both firefighters and Abby was a little bumble bee and Owen was super baby! David was so excited to pour out his bucket of candy and see what he got! Dave told David that firefighters help people and that was what David was going to do. At the end of the night David looked at Dave with a confused look on his face and said, "Daddy, I didn't help anyone. Why didn't I help anyone?" We got a good laugh out of that one.

Visit from the Jackson's

This evening, the Jackson family came over to hang out and watch the Phillies game. GO PHILS! Since the game was delayed by 1 1/2 hours, we only ended up watching a couple of innings, but we really enjoyed being with them and enjoyed some good food too! David was so excited that Isaac was coming over, he barely slept during his nap and asked every half hour, "Is Isaac here yet?". He was so happy to see Isaac and they played so well together. They played with trains, had some dance time and made some "food" with play dough...all this in between taking breaks for chocolate chip cookies...a LOT of chocolate chip cookies. :) Owen and Abby seem to really like each other too as they were staring at each other and smiling at each other...it was really cute.

Game Night!

Our friends came over last night for some fun and games. We hung out, had some fellowship and played some games. Of course, we played a big Settlers game and then we played Trivial Pursuit, girl against guys. It was an exciting game that came down to sudden death and the guys won. Good game! We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. It was really nice to see everyone, especially Martin and Beth Anne who we hadn't seen in so long!

Day 7...Coming Back Home

What a great trip! We had such a wonderful time and we're sad to come home. Dave and I had some special times just the two of us and it was so nice to be with my love. We love our sweet boys, David and Owen, and the special and fun times we had with each one of them are precious to us. David was so sad to leave his friends today that he kept saying that he wanted them to come to his house. He didn't want to leave! :) We were thinking of the highlights of our trip and it was hard to come up with one because the entire week was a highlight! Long talks with Dave, playing in the sand with Davey, going for swims and in the hot tub with Dave, our family bike ride, going out to breakfast, watching Davey run down the dunes, late night hot tub dips with our friends, watching the boys play together and run around, watching Owen experience so many new things and enjoying his many smiles, walks to town, key lime pie and Settlers, watching the VP debate with everyone, swimming with the boys, building lakes with David, getting ice cream, Duck donuts and coffee!, the beach....and I could go on and on. Thanks, friends for a fabulous week!!!
