Blue Rocks Game

Last night we went to a Blue Rocks game with some of our friends. David was so excited to go to the game, he could barely contain himself! We had a fun night and even Owen lasted until the fireworks at the end...well almost...he fell asleep on my shoulder during the fireworks. :)

Alas, the team did not win, but much fun was had by all!

We visited beautiful Caneel Bay and had a simply lovely breakfast right on the water. We then headed for Honeymoon Beach and spent the day on one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen...by ourselves! For most of the day, it was just the two of us which was wonderful. We ended the day at a wonderful restaurant that had beautiful views and delicious food.

Adventures in St. John, Part 3

Leinster Bay

We drove all the way to the end of the island and took the hike to Leinster Bay and Waterlemon Cay. Though it was quite a long swim out to Waterlemon Cay, it was worth it! The best snorkeling we had on the island. We saw eels, sea turtles, starfish, and thousands of fish. The reef was so beautiful with the most vivid and colorful coral. The mile hike was right along the shoreline and we enjoyed walking through the forest. It was a little eerie swimming out to the Cay, because most of the swim was over very deep water (30 or 40 feet), so it felt like an adventure! And, once again, hardly anyone else was there!

Adventures in St. John, Part 2

We drove all the way to the end of the island to hike to the Annaberg Sugar Plantation ruins. From faraway, it looks like the ruins of an old castle. Once we reached the top of the hill, there were some spectacular views as well.

Adventures in St. John, Part 1

Our first adventure was a trip to the other side of the island and to Little Lameshur Bay. It was QUITE a drive getting there as we went through the mountains on some very crazy roads. We finally got through the mountains and went through Coral Bay and then...the road ended. We went off-roading in our jeep and after a crazy, bumpy, fun ride where we encountered some donkeys and goats, we arrived at a tucked away little bay where we there was just us and a couple of others. Snorkeling was fun here as there was a great reef and some really neat seagrass to swim through. We enjoyed the quiet little beach and headed back home, stopping by a little restaurant called Shipwreck Landing. Had a really nice day and Dave really enjoyed off-roading! :) It felt like we were in a private beach!
